Wakefield Varsity Warriors Victorious Over Forest Park Varsity Bruins

Wakefield Varsity Warriors were triumphant over Forest Park Varsity Bruins 5-4 on Wednesday at Wakefield HS Baseball Field.

Wakefield Varsity Warriors got on the board in the second inning after Miles McBride singled, scoring one run.

Wakefield Varsity Warriors added one run in the third after Chase Daub grounded into a fielder’s choice.

Harrison Wright doubled down the left field line on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, which helped Forest Park Varsity Bruins tie the game at two in the top of the sixth.

In the bottom of the sixth, Wakefield Varsity Warriors broke up the tie when Charlie Quinn singled, scoring one run. Then a single by Sam Graf followed to extend the lead to 5-2.

Thomas Zwicker started on the mound for Wakefield Varsity Warriors. The left-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and one run over five innings, striking out two and walking one. Mason Hopper led things off on the bump for Forest Park Varsity Bruins. The pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Quinn and McBride each appeared in relief for Wakefield Varsity Warriors.

Graf drove the middle of the lineup, leading Wakefield Varsity Warriors with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. McBride and Graf each collected two hits for Wakefield Varsity Warriors.

Will Frye, Landon Ludington, and Wright each drove in one run for Forest Park Varsity Bruins. Hopper led Forest Park Varsity Bruins with three hits in three at bats. Forest Park Varsity Bruins turned one double play in the game.
